If you don't blow your own trumpet ........

Those of you who know me will know that I am always up for something new. In January I signed up for a course in Stained Glass - and here is my first attempt at creating something......

I was quite pleased in that this is probably the very first time I have succeeded in drawing something and then making it.

My original drawing and the end result are here.......

I had always wondered how to make something like this. It turns out that there are two main methods.  This one was made using the
'Tiffany' method. Having cut the glass you fix copper tape around each piece and then join the pieces using solder. (I assume that this was how Tiffany lampshades were made.)

The other method is the traditional one which uses strips of lead to hold the pieces of glass in place. I am working on another design using this method. I will share it with you when it is finished.

You lucky people!
