Glasgow et al

A few years ago I happened to have some free time while in Glasgow and I visited the Museum of Modern Art.  One painting in particular grabbed my attention. It was a picture of an art gallery. It grabbed me because, as you walked past it, it moved!

Fans of Pete and Dud will recall that truly great pictures 'follow you around the room' so I knew I was in the presence of something special.

When we took our canal boat to Birmingham, we visited the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. There, in the entrance hall to the gallery I was astonished to see exactly the same picture! (I subsequently found it that it is by a Birmingham artist, so it must have been on loan in Glasgow.)

I thought it would be fun to have a go at making my own art gallery. It is smaller and not nearly as well made as the orginal, but it seems to work quite well.

Of course, you really need to see it in the flesh, but if you can't make it to Malvern right now, then check it out by following this link: My art gallery

Happy New Year to you all.
